Slot reader for magnetic cards and Bar Codes
Magnetic cards are written according to the ISO standard 7816, the ISO 9781 bases the physical dimensions of a card, and in ISO 9785 the electromechanical characteristics are defined. According to ISO 7816 the magnetic stripe is partitioned in 3 tracks: Track1, Track2, Track3. Specification track 1: 210 bpi 7 bits by character = 79 characters Specification track 2: 75 bpi 5 bits by character = 40 characters Specification track 3: 210 bpi 5 bits by character = 102 characters For different applications the specified track will be selected. Example 1: You want to configure a POS system and your customer requires the reading of eurocheque cards. Choose devices which read Track 2+3 Example 2: You want to create a security system. For this solution choose a device which read Track 2. Due the lower data density of Track 2your application will run better and cause less errors. Example 3:You need datas of customers like adress and phone number. That will only work with Track 1. Please consider that you have to adjust to the German character set. If you do not adjust your application special characters will not be set correct and the datastream will flow slower. Deus sells only readers wich contents the German character set. For use under hard conditions we can offer you devices with aluminium chassis from RECO. This devices can be opened by user to install the chassis for example up on a wall. This kind of property you will hardly find, because most chassis are made of platic. Please notice, that slot reader are more durable and forces less errors then plug in reader caused by less reading mechanic. Even for programming they are used in most cases, because you are able to decode up to 1000 magnetic cards per hour and that is a value you cannot reach with common semi-automats. Full-automats with automatic card feeding systems und stacker have the nearly the same properties, but they are more expensive (by 20 times more). Technical data:
