HP Chai Technology is powering the next generation of Internet-enabled printing and imaging appliances!

HP's Print and Image Chai Developer Community provides the information and tools required to deploy your e-service solutions on many of HP's printing and imaging products.

A build in web server in the printer is only one demonstration of the EVM (embedded virtual machine). Find out by yourself how Chai (HP’s Java implementation) Applets do run in your printer. Chai enabled printers are actually 2300, 2420, 2430, HP Color LaserJet 2500 and 3700, LaserJet 4100, LaserJet 4100MFP, 4200, 4250, 4300, 4345MFP, 4350, Color LaserJet 4550, 4600, 4650, 5500 und 5550, LaserJet 9000, 9000L MFP, 9000MFP, 9040MFP, 9050, 9050MFP, 9055MFP, 9065MFP, Color LaserJet 9500, 9500MFP and Business InkJet 3000. More Chai enabled printers to come in 2005!

Additional Chai Applets do require a hard disk or a FSA flash device plugged into the printer.

eABM (enhanced address book manager) Chailet

With the eABM you can remotely manage (update, delete, backup or restore) the local address book of a HP LaserJet 4100MFP, 9000L MFP and 9000MFP.

AutoPrint Chailet

Automatic printing of documents at a specific time, which the printer gathers itself from the Intra- or Internet.

  • automatic confirmation via e-Mail of print success and / or failure

  • automatic printing of document just in time

  • distribution of documents to remote offices

  • automatic synchronization with a "time server"

  • support of .prn (.pdf, .tif, .jpg and .pdf possible as an add on - more upon request)

  • kiosk mode for convenient release of printjobs
